AdobeTV - ADC Presents - Setting up a Flex-Ajax Bridge for Video

AdobeTV - ADC Presents - Creating a Custom Video Player

More Videos From AdobeTV

Ever since I decided to buy Adobe's new CS-4 Web Premium Suite, I have become addicted to the tutorial videos at AdobeTV. This week I am posting some new videos that have me excited about another product that Adobe offers, Flex Builder 3.

School is just around the corner and I shouldn't be concerned with spending money and learning more applications but if you are any kind of egg head like I am then you can't help wanting to try something new and exciting. Well I probably wont be buying this product in the near future but I imagine that it won't be long before I do.

I hope you enjoy these videos as much as I have. Until next time have fun designing, coding or whatever else you might like to do with your computer.

AdobeTV - ADC Presents - Building a Video Application with Flex Builder

Computers will either kill me or make me totally insane.

I recently downloaded on of Adobe's CS-4 design suites and ever since then I have been trying to
learn how to use all of the different software that comes with it, either by:
  • Watching Adobe tv like there was nothing better to do with my time.

  • Reading every support page on Adobe's website.

  • Actually opening up each individual program and trying to learn using the hands on method.

  • Which all of this has made me feel like I am walking backwards.

One of my biggest problems I have had is all of my attempts to install a testing server. I know it is possible to put a very basic Windows, Apache, MySql, Php server (WAMP's) on a flash drive. So I went on line and found a 16gb flash drive for about $32. Which is at least 14gb more than I need. So far I have had to reformat it at least four times and once I had to unplug it and restore my system back to the last restore point. I didn't lose anything critical and I could have restored it back after formating my flash drive but that wasn't as important than getting that damn WAMP server on to my mega thumb drive.

I finally managed to get a server on the pen drive, twice actually, using preconfigured software that was supposed to just install and get you up in running. Well for some reason, even though I did get it up and running, I couldn't get my software to recognize it. So now I have decided that I am going to install it on my own. I figure this way by the time I start school in January, I should have it up and running. And if I don't I will find someone at school that can help me. Actually with all of this madness going on I did find some nice free software. For anyone that likes, or has to use a flash drive and want to keep their files and other apps on one or more, there is a great piece of software called Portable Apps. Their site is easy enough to find, their url is www.PortableApps.com

Well I am going to post some videos that I have probably seen more than a few times but I want to share them with some of my friends and who knows, someone might actually read this blog and find them interesting.

Cheers Mates.
